Burlesque Hair Company is a creative and passionate hair company that has 3 cool, contemporary salons spread throughout South Wales. Co-owned by Stuart Nicholson and Dave Coltherd they have one simple philosophy: to be the creators of the latest, trends, colours and styles.

Since opening in Newport back in 1983 they have grown to be one of the most highly regarded salons in the UK. They regularly hold seminars, events, cutting demos and photo shoots and have featured in national hair magazines such as Hair Magazine and Your Hair. Always looking for ways to innovate within the industry, Burlesque has won numerous national awards over the last 20 years.

The Brief

Burlesque asked us to develop a full social media strategy. Moving their brand towards being a social hair company they wanted to engage with their predominantly younger customers on a more intimate basis.

What We Did

With a fully realised social strategy in mind we set out to propel Burlesque onto the next level of social. With Twitter and Facebook accounts and editorial calendars created, we grew an engaged audience on both of these platforms and then set about on an email marketing campaign with the intention of increasing the company’s profile.

Burlesque were asked by Welsh born designer Elliott J. Frieze to style and create for his Autumn/Winter London Fashion Week collection in February 2011 so they wanted us to go along and film the preparation. We’ll say no more and let you take a look at the video!
