Are you In?

You may have heard by now that we're the VERY proud owners of Wales biggest Social Media Conference - The Oi Conference (Oi for Online Influence).

Oi has run two hugely successful events for the last two years; both sold out, both trending UK wide on Twitter, and both attracting speakers from the upper echelons of UK and US social media society.

Excuse the pun but it really is quite a coup for us to take control of Oi, and we couldn't be more excited about where we are going to take what the awesome Mr Tony Dowling has started.

So excited in fact that we've already started work on Oi'14 and have secured amazing premises, mapped out the day's itinerary, and secured two of the most recognisable names in their respective fields to come and give master classes throughout the day.

Brandwatch is the world's no. 1 social media monitoring and data analysis platform. Having recently raised $6million they now boast offices in UK, Berlin, Chicago and New York... and now they're coming to Cardiff! Social data has never been hotter than now and these guys are going to help you make sense of that data to engage with the right people at the right time.

Hootsuite is a global leader in social media publishing and analytics with 6 million users, including 79 of the Fortune 100 companies. I'm not sure these guys need much more of an introduction!

It's all happening on April 10 2014 at Cardiff Met University's new School of Business, and will boast 2 keynote speakers (tbc) and 9 break out masterclasses (one more to confirm).

So hopefully you'll agree it's been a good start... and we're not slowing down just because the Summer holidays are here. We've also agreed an amazing partnership with one of the most inspiring projects happening in Wales right now. We need to finalise one or two things on that front but we'll confirm the ins and outs by early September. All I can say is that it's an initiative that aims to encourage young welsh talent to stay and ply their trade within our borders - something that in time will benefit the welsh economy and be a huge boost to businesses in Wales.

We always wanted Oi to be so much more than a just a conference and we're forging links that will go some way to achieving that. That bigger aim is this... Oi becomes a community that collaborates, contributes, learns and changes things that need changing - not just in the world of business! That will happen online via the site, blog, and learning resources, and offline via conferences, talks, summits and seminars.

We hope you'll stick with us throughout the journey and we promise to keep you up to date with every step along the way. Sign up for the emails here and you'll never miss a beat!

If you want to get involved with Oi - as a speaker, ambassador or volunteer, then we'd love to hear from you - just email and we'll talk!
