Bonfire Night & Twitter...

There's nothing we love more than an internal doodle just for the sake of it. We don't always have time, but this bonfire night we had to indulge our techie passions with this... fireworktweets.co.uk.

Using Google Maps, a Twitter hashtag feed and some good ole fashioned animated gifs, we created a Fireworks heat map of Britain that went live on the Friday before the Bonfire weekend.

We asked people to tweet #fireworks or #bonfire from their mobiles with location settings switched on so that their own personal rocket could explode on to our maps.

At it's peak (on the evening of Sunday 4 November), there were over 1000 fireworks popping across the UK map, with tweets to boot!

Make sure you're involved next fireworks night - but don't worry - we'll send out a reminder long before!
